Blogmas Day 4: A Festive Family Day

While reading, listen to It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas by Michael Buble.

When it comes to Christmas, decorating is one of the best parts.

Growing up, my family would decorate our home for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. We wasted no time! What can I say? We are Christmas people, through and through. This tradition includes my dad, and my three brothers putting the Christmas lights up outside, and the girls decorating inside. With Christmas music a'blaring, hot chocolates all around, and spirits high, we'd finish the whole house in one day. I'm convinced this is why my parents had five kids - everything gets done REAL quick.

Now, no family or day is perfect. Canigetanamen? Our decorating day almost always includes shattered ornaments, bickering over stringed lights, and a million opinions about the ideal Christmas tree.

But at the end of the day, being with family is where I want to be.

I love the loud laughter filling the house, the proud applause when the topper is placed on the tree, and the contented smiles at the house all lit up at night.

This year, we decorated a littler later than November 25th, but it was special and fun all the same. I love that Reed and I got to join in on the festivities as locals this year. When we were dating, we always talked about how wonderful it would be to share the holidays with family, and it truly is. My brother Keaton and his sweet girlfriend Sara, were here too! My childhood homes looks as gorgeous as ever, and after a long day's work, we finished the night with a delicious meal around the table and watched Santa Claus in front of the fireplace.

So for Day 4 of Blogmas, I'm sharing a few snapshots from our festive family day! Enjoy!
